Today

  • More than 950 children and adults are served annually throughout our service area.
  • Clients are served through the Children’s Choice Inclusive Daycare program, Early Intervention program, Outpatient Therapy clinic, CCEP program, Adult Habilitation program, and HEARTS respite program.

Children’s Choice Inclusive Daycare

East Central Alabama UCP’s Children’s Choice Inclusive Daycare program provides individualized support services for up to 115 children, age birth to 5 years, in an inclusive classroom environment.  The goal of Children’s Choice is to provide each child with the skills necessary to successfully transition into the school system.

Outpatient Therapy Clinic

East Central Alabama UCP’s Outpatient Therapy Clinic serves children identified to struggle with a 25% or higher delay in at least one area of human development.  Specialized speech, physical, and occupational therapists assess each child upon enrollment and develop individualized service plans to strategically address the child’s needs.

Adult Day Habilitation Program

East Central Alabama UCP’s Adult Day Habilitation program provides individualized services for adults with developmental and physical disabilities to develop employable skills and enjoy social interaction.  Each client is challenged to increase their productivity using specialized activities and service plans.  Training toward employment is provided through the Gone For Good document destruction program.

Early Intervention Program

East Central Alabama UCP’s Early Intervention program provides critical therapeutic services and supports for children and adults with disabilities in the comforts of the client’s home.  That’s right.  The therapist comes to YOU.

HEARTS Respite Program

East Central Alabama UCP’s HEARTS respite program provides funds for families to employ and train knowledgeable caregivers for their loved one to allow for a temporary break from daily care responsibilities.

For more than 58 years, children and adults have been experiencing miracles through the programs and services provided by East Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy (ECAUCP).  People struggling with disabilities and their families need support, in order to have the opportunity to achieve their goals and reach their maximum potential.  They share the same dreams as everyone else.  All of us — whether or not we have disabilities — want many of the same things — we want our families to be healthy and happy, we want meaningful work, and we all deserve the opportunity to live meaningful lives.
